Depth of polymerization
The opacity of aura bulk fill is a function of the difference in the refractive index of its two components, the fill material and the resin.
The curing process slightly alters the refractive index of the resin, to match the refractive index of the filler material
This temporarily reduces opacity, allowing deeper penetration for greater depth of cure.
After curing, the index spreads again to achieve the ideal opacity for the shiny, chameleon-like finish of aura bulk fill.
