Porcelain Etch Gel - The etching gel with hydrofluoric acid is a fluid gel with excellent solubility and miscibility in water.

Its color is red, easily identifiable on contrasting porcelain surfaces.

Indication

• Used for etching various types of porcelain/ceramic restorations bonded to resin (conventional feldspathic porcelain, leucite glass-ceramic, lithium disilicate, zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate glass-ceramic, fluorapatite glass-ceramic, etc.) before bonding and cementation procedures.

• It makes the restoration surface rougher and improves mechanical locking strength.

Notes: The hydrofluoric acid contained in HF-Etchant can selectively combine with silicon in silicate ceramics to form water-soluble tetrahedral SiF4 compounds, which can create cellular mechanical retention structures on ceramic surfaces after water rinsing.

Hydrofluoric acid is highly toxic and lethal when it combines with calcium ions in the human body. Therefore, HF acid is generally used for pretreatment of restorations outside the mouth and must be rinsed or neutralized with an alkaline product.
