Depth of polymerization

The opacity of aura bulk fill is a function of the difference in the refractive index of its two components, the fill material and the resin.

The polymerization process slightly alters the index refraction of the resin, in order to match the index refraction of the filling material

This temporarily reduces opacity, allowing deeper penetration for greater depth of polymerization.

After curing, the index spreads again to achieve the ideal opacity for the shiny, chameleon-style finish of aura bulk fill.
