Zipbond universal is a single-component, fluoride-releasing, light-curing universal bonding system that can be used in self-etch, selective etch and total etch techniques. Zipbond Universal provides a strong, uniform and reliable bond in all clinical situations related to cavity type and restoration method.

Indications:

Direct application:

  • Reconstruction using photopolymerizable composites.
  • Reconstruction using photopolymerizable compomers.
  • Application to the cavity before cementation of indirect restorations.
  • Composite repairs of porcelain and hybrid ceramic works. Coating of exposed root surfaces showing hypersensitivity.
  • Core reconstruction using light-cured or double-bonded composites.
  • As a protective varnish for fillings with glass ionomer (GI) cements

Indirect use:

  • Cementation of indirect restorations

Features and Benefits:

  • Exceptional control
Through the use of nanofillers, an easy-to-apply material was obtained, creating an optimal layer with increased bonding strength. Zipbond is easy to apply and forms a thin, even layer. This allows precise cementing of intermediate structures.
  • High aesthetics
The bonding system is visible after application and becomes practically invisible after photopolymerization. The agent is ideal for use in the aesthetic area after discoloration and in combination with translucent materials.
  • Good smell
Zipbond Universal has a pleasant, gentle scent for the patient.
  • Fluoride release
“The leading cause of failure of medium and large composite restorations is secondary caries at the margins of the restoration.” By releasing fluoride, Zipbond Universal protects against demineralization at the tooth-restoration interface. A highly effective bonding system that protects against rot and gives a permanent restoration.

Uniform bond strength

Zipbond Universal provides strong, reliable adhesion to dentin and enamel in self-etch and total-etch techniques.

The best option for using the Total Etch technique is to prepare the cavity only in the enamel area. Zipbond Universal has minimal variation in bond strength to enamel in the total etch technique, ensuring predictable results with every use.

Due to the heterogeneous structure of dentin, variable mineralization and water content, it is difficult to achieve a good bond between bonding systems and dentin. Zipbond Universal's carefully selected chemistry overcomes dentin adhesion difficulties and provides a strong, predictable bond for self-etch and total-etch techniques.

Choose Zipbond Universal for permanent adhesion, predictable clinical results and confidence in a stable bond between filling and tooth tissue.

Dry and wet dentin binder

The varying degree of moisture of the dentin surface can affect the bond strength. Zipbond Universal provides similar bond strength when applied to dry or wet dentin, reducing the risk of error.

Even when the dentin has been dried, Zipbond Universal will form a hybrid layer, ensuring a strong bond.

Predictable bond strength for indirect restorations

Zipbond Universal provides high bond strength to composite, ceramic and metal restorations. Bond strength is comparable for all types of intermediate restorations, giving reliable adhesion in all clinical situations mentioned. Zipbond Universal can be used with confidence for your doctor's preferred indirect fillings.

Combination of linker monomers

Zipbond Universal contains two complementary adhesive monomers that provide a permanent, strong bond. The patented combination of monomers, including MDP monomer, connects to enamel, dentin and various types of intermediate restorations.

Monomers contain hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups. Hydrophilic monomers rapidly infiltrate enamel and dentin tubules. To achieve effective lubrication, the bonding must be evenly distributed across the entire tooth surface, allowing the bonding system to penetrate the dentinal tubules.
